Description
This saddle is under 2 years old & has had very little use. It was imported from Alan Mackinder in Australia in 2009. It cost well over $5000 new to bring into the country with the currency conversion, shipping, MAF, duty tax & mountings etc.
It comes fully mounted with:
*A black sheepskin elasticated girth
*Thick webbing & PVC stirrup straps
*Endurance Caged safety stirrups with anti fatigue fighter 'foam' base, made for comfort over long distance riding
*A black Shear Comfort Sheepskin Seat Saver/Cover
It has only had around 6 months of use. It has since been shed stored & covered with hardly any use as I have young children & haven't had a chance to ride like I hoped I would, so this is a VERY regretful sale of an absolutely awesome saddle. It really guts me to have to sell this, but my husband needs the money for the farm & its too good to be sitting around unused.
I have a very bad back (ruptured & herniated disks) and it was perfect for me. It is super comfy & I have spent many long hours trekking in it & also used it to compete in a few endurance rides without so much as feeling a muscle ache. It has the most comfortable seat & to me, it is like sitting in a nice armchair. I never feel unseated in this saddle even when my horse is acting up. I always feel safe & secure & love cantering in it.
It fits a wide variety of horses including my high withered clydie x QH & low withered Arabs. The horse in the last picture is a QH stationbred x with a medium wither. The seat size is large, which is roughly the same as an 18inch English saddle. It seems to accommodate large & small riders.
The Mackinder "FLEX RIDE" saddle is not a treeless saddle. It has all the benefits that a tree provides without being rigid on the horses back, allowing for better rider position and movement from the horse. It features the Y girthing system.
