KIWI'S 4th at Houghton Horse TrialsNew Zealand has finished fourth in the FEI Nations Cup at the Houghton International Horse Trial in the UK this morning. Mark Todd and NZ Campino were the best of the team, finishing second in the CIC3* with two time faults in the showjumping costing them the win. Todd and Campino went clear and inside time in the cross country, and scored 36.3 penalty points in their dressage. Their team-mates Lizzie Brown aboard Henton Attorney General were 16th after going clear but picking up time faults in the cross country and clear in the showjumping, with Kate Wood on Easy Tiger IV 32nd and Megan Heath and St Daniel 36th. In the CCI* Jonathan Paget and Navigater II were fifth. The FEI eventing team series was launched in 2012, and the event at Houghton was the second leg. New Zealand was initially not going to be involved in the series this year, opting to focus on the Olympics, but after an approach from the organising committee agreed to be part of it. The teams event was won by Great Britain, with Australia second and Germany third.
