  • The Group three Darley Plate at Elleslie on Saturday was taken out by AMARYLLIS.

She raced handy to the pace, challenged turning for home and and ran away to win by a convincing 1 1/4 lengths, VINCENT MANGANO was second with VONUSTI a head away in third.

The 5 year old mare by RED RANSOME - LA FLEUR is trained by Steven Ramsey and Julia Ritchie, she is owned by Peter and Philip Vela and was ridden by James McDonald.

Stephen Ramsey, " Peter and I were talking during the week and we thought she was a good thing on a firm track, when the rain came we were a little bit worried. There is a race in Sydney on the 19th, if James is going over to ride KEEP THE PEACE there is a fillies and mares race on the same day, that could be, it's up to Peter and Philip, we'll just let the dust settle."

James McDonald, " She's a good horse this, she just needs a bit of luck on days like this and she'll show them how good she is, to be honest with you if it had been a firm track she would have won by more, she is a very good horse."
