The Group 2 DHL Global Hawke's Bay Guineas for the 3 year olds was taken out stylishly by ANTONIO LOMBARDO at Hastings on Saturday.

He settled one off on the outside of VINCENT STREET and went to the lead at the 800 meter mark, putting a couple of lengths on them when they turned for home he held that margin to the line winning quite comfortably. PRESTIGIOUS MISS came from back in the field to rattle home for a nice second 1 1/4 lengths from the winner. Another good effort from GINNER HART saw him handy in the running and he tried hard down the outside in the straight to be a short head away in third. They ran the 1400m in 1.22.65 on a Dead4 track.

ANTONIO LOMBARDO is a 3 year old colt by PINS - PETIT VERDOT, he is trained by Peter Mckay and was ridden by Sam Spratt.

Sam Spratt, " I wouldn't say he got taken on it was just that the other horse went to lead and I actually did go and take a sit off him but he didn't want to so in the end I though there's no point in fighting him I might as well let him roll forward. Because I was swinging off him the whole way down the back I was surprised he did kick. I tell you what, he fights again when the other horses come to him, the last little bit he dove out a bit. With that time I thought it was avery impressive run."
