    • BLACK CAVIAR took out the Lighning Stakes at Flemington on Saturday in what looked to be a track gallop for her. Unfortunately the the showdown with HAY LIST did not eventuate as she treated her rivals with contempt. She ran the 1000 meters in 57.2 seconds, this could have easily been around 55.5 as she had not pressure put on her and was eased to cross the line in a canter.

    Her potential is to be the highest ever rated sprinter in the world, she is rated at 123 at the moment and handicapper Greg Carpenter will be looking to have her rating lifted. OASIS DREAM set the all time sprinter rating of 125 in 2003.
