Black Caviar draws well for the Lightning

Black Caviar will have eight rivals, including Hay List, in what is widely regarded as her toughest test in Saturday's Group One Lightning Stakes.

The champion mare, who has drawn barrier five, is set to back up from her outstanding win in the Orr Stakes last weekend.

She will be angling for her 19th win in as many starts at a track where she has notched six wins,

Hay List has drawn barrier 7 for the 1000m Flemington feature. 3 yo Foxwedge will jump from the outside gate. Temple Of Boom has the rails. Buffering, who finished second behind Black Caviar in last year's Group 1 Patinack Farm Classic, along with 2009 Golden Slipper winner Phelan Ready and last year's Monash Stakes winner Secret Flyer. Patinack Far's Metallurgical who sold for $2.2 million at the Magic Millions sale on the Gold Coast in 2008. The gelding is a Redoute's Choice half brother to Patinack's promising young sire Casino Prince.

Rounding out the field is the Robert Smerdon trained Lone Rock, a surprise winner of the Group 3 Bobbie Lewis Quality at Flemington last September.

Salinger Stakes winner Sister Madly pulled up with a sore foot after trackwork this morning and will not race.
