  • BOOMING wins the G.1 Thorndon Mile

A first Gr.1 win for rider Masa Tanaka, BOOMING crossed the line with half a length to spare. DASOUDI was second and EILEEN DUBH third.

The Gr.1 Harcourts Thorndon Mile (1600m) win, was a second triumph after the Gr.1 Zabeel Classic (2000m) on Boxing Day. The Thorndon Mile win is the Jeff Lynds-trained BOOMING's eighth career win. A campaign in Australia looks to be next for the successful galloper.

Six-year-old BOOMING was bred by Fayette Park Stud and was bought by Mr D R Frampton for $50,000 from Seaton Park in the 2006 Karaka Select Sale. To date BOOMING's sire Don Eduardo has registered five Group winners and he will offer 13 yearlings across Select and Festival Sale. BOOMING's unraced Grosvenor dam BEAUTIFUL SEA has produced four winners from four to race.
