KEEP THE PEACE takes the G.1 WFAThe Haunui Farm Group 1 Weight For Age Classic was taken out by KEEP THE PEACE at Otaki on Saturday. WALL STREET led them up with KEEP THE PEACE settling back in the small field with two behind her. The 4 year old mare by KEEPER - PEACE OF MIND took off at the 600 meter to be handy on the turn and the battle was on, WALL STREET fought like a tiger but the sustained bid by the winner saw her go to the line winning by a long neck, DASOUDI was 1 1/4 lengths away in third. Trained by Shaune Ritchie and ridden by James McDonald she will now go to Australia to contest the G.1 Ranvet Stakes on March 19 and the $2.2 million BMW 2400m at Rosehill on April 2nd. Shaune Ritchie pledged 50% of his earnings this weekend to the relief effort for the Christchurch earthquake fund and called on other stakeholders to follow suit. " We've made this decision as individuals but I challenge my fellow trainers as well as jockeys, owners and breeders to do their bit. All of us in other parts of New Zealand, not directly affected by the earthquake, are in a position to help and this is the most effective way Ali and I believe we can do so."
