KINGS ROSE takes the G.2 Royal StakesKINGS ROSE carries on her winning way with more Group success, she took out the G.2 New Zealand Bloodstock Royal Stakes for the 3 year old fillies at Ellerslie on New Years day. Trained by Jason Bridgman and ridden by James McDonald the 3 year old filly by REDOUTE'S CHOICE fought well to overcome her rivals in the straight and go to line winning by a long neck, ANNIE HIGGINS was second with QUEEN OF POP a long head further back in third. Jockey James McDonald interviewed after the race said, " She's a pretty special filly, she had her work cut out, they made her do it tough but she pulled out all the stops toward the end. The only way she was going to be beat is if the put the pressure on her and that is what they did, she didn't fold and pulled out all the stops to hold out ANNIE HIGGINS who is a very good filly."
