MOUNT SINAI wins the Ken Browne HurdleIn a great display of jumping MOUNT SINAI took out the Ken Browne Hurdle at Ellerslie on Saturday 6th June. Leading for most of the 3350 meters he ran away from the field from the 800 meter mark and putting a clean break on the field as they turned for home and coming away to win by 9 lengths. Anne Browne and jockey Richard Eynon filled the quinella with BIG BROWNIE fighting on well for second, HO DOWN didn't give it away for trainer Paul Nelson and jockey Thomas Flint to be 3 lengths away in third. It was a further 25 lengths back to the fourth horse. MOUNT SINAI is a 8 year old gelding by KILIMANGARO - KESSEM'S JEWEL, he is trained by Anne Browne and was ridden by Shelley Houston. Anne Brown, " It's panned out well for me because I got first, second and fourth. The conditions suited them enough, it doesn't have to be as bad as this, I just believe you have to have the horses really fit to cope with it." Media Images![]() |
