  • A great training performance by Steven McKee saw MUFHASA take out the Group 1. JR & N Berkett Telegraph Handicap at Trentham on Saturday. The horse looked in truly magnificent condition.

Ridden by Sam Spratt the 6 year old gelding by PENTIRE drew wide which turned out to be a bonus on the day. He settled midfield and wide, finishing the race off down the outside of the track he went to the line in style to win by 1 1/4 lengths. It was Sam Spratts opinion that he would finish off better with blinkers and this proved to be right on the mark. " It was so awesome, such a buzz, a buzz to win a group race. I have had so much to do with the Archer's and the horse and it was enormous." It was the fourth time the pair have combined for Group 1 success.

The Australian horse FIRST COMMAND ttrained by Lee Freedman and ridden by Dwayne Dunn was second.

COUP ALIGN trained by Michael Pitman and ridden by Lisa Alpress was a head away in third.
