New Punters Competition to Begin Saturday at RiccartonThe inaugural Equivision Punters Competition was run over 8 weeks and taken out by Taranaki dairy farmer Tony Dravitzki. Tony has been a Punter and Breeder of thoroughbreds for many of his years and has recently taken out an owner trainers licence. He pretrains his horses on the farm riding his own work and then uses track riders at the Stratford track. As an owner his most successful horse was I'MANACE who won the 2006 running of the Ken Browne Memorial Stepplechase and followed up that year running second in both the Grand National and Great Northern Steeples. Tony showed a real talent for picking the winners, something he puts down to a good run of luck. A new competition will begin this week at Riccarton and run for 10 weeks with similar rules. Punters will select one horse in each race and receive 7 points for a win, 4 points for second and 2 points for third. The prizes for the ten week competition will be First $600, Second $200, Third $100 NEW TO THIS COMPETITION will be a $50 weekly prize to the Punter who has the highest score for that week. All prizes will be payed by TAB voucher or deposited into the Punters TAB account. If you make your selections early and a particular horse is scratched you can email us with your new selection. Simply register to enter the competition and be in to win. Entry is FREE. Spread the word to friends. It is a lot of fun. Fields will be out on Thursday. Good Luck and Happy PUNTING. Media Images |
