O'CARTIER was impressive taking out the Listed Sakhee's Secret Melbourne RC Lightning Handicap at Trentham on Saturday.

The 7 year old gelding by MY HALO-CARINDA was fast out from a wide gate and settled fourth in the running. EILLEEN DUBB got a small break on the field as they headed for home, O'CARTIER went with her and hit the front at the 200 meter mark, he ran away to win impressively by 3 lengths, EILEEN DUBB held on well for second with REUBEN THORN close up a nose away in third. They ran the 1200 meters in 1.07.22

O'CARTIER is trained by John and Karen Parsons and was ridden by Hayden Tinsley. It was his 16th win from 68 starts.

Karen Parsons," I'm so relieved he is back to his best, what a brilliant ride. If you have a look all his best form has been at 1200 meters, he has changed his style of racing, he likes a bit of room."

Hayden Tinsley," I didn't realise we had run 1.07 but the pace was on, he settled beautifully and he's kicked right to the line. It's the first time I have ridden him and for the trainers as well. He's a lot younger than his age says in the book, 1.07 is not bad for an old horse like him carrying weight."
