    • The Group 3 Christchurch Casino Easter Cup was taken out by EL CHICO at Riccarton on Saturday.

    He settled back in last position and was angled out to make his run down the outside on the home turn, keeping up a sustained run he went to the line winning by a short head from ROYAL FLIGHT who fought right to the wire. OUR BEE JAY and THE HAND OF FAITH were 1 1/4 lengths back in a dead heat for third. The 1600 meters was run in 1.36.70
