    • The French trained AMERICAIN won comes into contention for the Melbourne Cup with great win in the Geelong Cup. In a patient ride by French Jockey Gerald Mosse and with 58kg on his back he waited for a gap to come and finished well to win by a long head, second was the favourite MOUDRE with EXCEPTIONALLY a half a length away in third.
