WAIKATO STUD DRAFT - KARAKA 2012

  • Waikato Stud - the proven breeding ground of 25 individual Gr.1 winners, once again offers a quality line-up at Karaka this year.

All told their draft numbers 64, with 37 of these K1 bound and the 27 remainder K2.

Of these, there will be plenty of buzz around Lot 287- a colt by O'REILLY out of the stud's dual Gr.1 winning mare LEGS and Lot 216 - a colt by PINS out of another of their dual Gr.1 winning mares in GLAMOUR PUSS.

As you would expect, their consignment is rich with the progeny of the internationally renowned stallions O'REILLY (25 yearlings), PINS (18 yearlings).

The stud's other proven Gr.1 sires SAVABEEL and NO EXCUSE NEEDED count 5 and 6 yearlings apiece, whilst emerging 2nd season sire FAST N FAMOUS - who counts the recent Gr.2 runner up OUR FAMOUS EVE amongst his 10 winners, numbers the 10 yearlings.

Given the stud's average of 12.4 stakes winners bred per season, you'd have to say Waikato's draft is well worth a look.
